It's all about me!
Handsome Hugo is back! He is an absolutely gorgeous young man. He has been assessed and is not an XL Bully or Pitbull type – we have his assessment paperwork stating this.
Hugo is extremely friendly with people and other dogs, although he has not lived with other dogs recently, he has been walked with them and proved to be an absolute gentleman.
He is currently going through training and has all the basic commands such as sit, down and wait for dinner. He does get excited to see you and can jump up and get over excited, so he is being trained to be calm and not to jump up. His new owner needs to be aware of this and continue the training.
Hugo can be a little bit cheeky and strong on lead, so has been Halti trained and now walks nicely on this. He can walk nicely without one, but he can get a little bit excited by new experiences. He will need more training in this area with his new owner if they do not wish to use a Halti.
He is an absolute bundle of joy, super friendly and puts a smile on the faces of all who he meets with his funny, cheeky character.
Hugo does have a lot of energy, so his new owners will need to ensure that he is mentally and physically exercised. He is extremely clever and needs a lot of stimulation to ensure that he does not pick up any bad habits. We use Likimats and Kongs filled with frozen yoghurt and treats. He is really easy to train and loves his treats! He really would be perfect for someone to put their stamp on and be a really lovely addition to the family.
Although Hugo is a really good boy, he is a large dog and can be strong and cheeky at times, but never naughty. So therefore, we think he would thrive better in an active home with children over the age of 12 years.
Being in an active household would really suit him and he would love every second of being cuddled by a calm and patient family who can bring out his full potential.
We would love nothing more than for this young lad to find his perfect happy ending. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Important notes
-
All of our dogs are assessed, vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, neutered (or will be at a time recommended by our vet) and treated for fleas and worms.
-
We re-home to Thanet and surrounding areas, (up to a 1 hour drive from Dover where many of our dogs our brought upon arrival) but will consider further afield for a dog that has very specific requirements.
